About the "D.A.D.D." funny acronym Father's Day joke gift design
Funny Graphic T-Shirts knew that we wanted to do a great Father's Day design for our fans to give a gift on the third Sunday in June (observed that way in most countries) or otherwise. We just didn't want to do a traditional cheesy soppy design like you usually see. Most Father's would agree that they'll only wear it because they don't want their son our daughter to feel bad. So... We set out to design a progressive design that Dad would be proud to wear over and over again, year after year!
We focused on a major concern for almost every father with a teenage daughter... Dating. This design goes straight to the point of what every Dad is thinking when they meet that clown that his daughter brings home for the first time. "I would so like to punch you straight in the face,"!
The design is complete vector art designed in Adobe Illustrator and rasterized into a *.PNG in Photoshop for upload. The design has a clenched fist punching a teenage punk in the face knocking off his trendy sunglasses. The teenage punk's acoustic guitar gets smashed in process and his cigarette spews ashes as he falls backwards. The silhouette of the teenage daughter stands in back with disgust in a defensive posture. The acronym D.A.D.D. standing for "Dads Against Daughters Dating" is in a distressed looking font with a broken heart in back of the first "D". A cool cyan color was used to designate the feeling of ice cold emotion as the one drop of blood from the broken heart turns from warm (love) into frozen action. The shattered heart has a cracked glass pattern behind it showing the sheer force that the angry Dad's fist is capable of exerting.
